As an expat living abroad for nearly 10 years, with two Latin capitals I’ve now called home (Mexico City and Bogota), and a job (and hobby) that has transported me throughout the region, I’m often asked by family, friends, friends of friends and acquaintances about my travel recommendations for the cities I’ve inhabited and those I frequent.
After years of copying and pasting lists from emails, notes and WhatsApp messages, I created short lists saved on my computer and phone to share on command. Yet when I started receiving requests for tips from strangers on social media, I decided it was time to simplify my life (and yours, if you’re reading this) easier by making these travel guides public.
Disclaimer: Since places often change, and new spots are continuously popping up, what you’ll find here is a list of the classics in each destination of choice, plus some locals only hidden gems or tips. I might sprinkle in a few trendy recommendations, particularly in the city I’m living in, which right now is Bogota, or a city I’ve traveled to recently. If you’re looking for the newest restaurant or bar though, you may not find it here. I will, however, try my best to keep this section up to date with cool finds along the way.
Safe travels.
With love,
K
